Not sure if this was just an experience with the specific stylist, but I went to Beabella after my cousin recommend it.

I went to do highlights and a keratin treatment. So my stylist told me she would do a Brazilian blowout then told me to come back after a week for her to do balayage. Now, I don’t know much about hair, but my mom knows a little, and she pointed out how it doesn’t make sense to do color after a hair treatment, especially with bleach, as the hair treatment should work towards repairing the effects caused by the coloring. I brought that up to my stylist, and she said it was fine. Not sure why, but I just believed and trusted her. So we did the treatment. It took about four hours. I loved how the treatment made my hair. However, it didn’t last long.

I came in a few days later, the amount of days my stylist told me to. It took about five hours. My hair isn’t long by the way. It was shoulder length. I told her I wanted very thin highlights, and I wanted them to be midway so that they can grow out quick if I don’t end up liking them. My stylist was always super nice, which made me feel bad to bring things up multiple times after she’d smile and say ok, but I did feel like she didn’t ask many follow up questions or give much of an explanation to the things she was doing. My highlights ended up covering a majority of my upper layer of hair. Though I asked for more of an ash gray and very light color, I got more of a purple color to my hair. I didn’t really like it, but I didnt show it much, while she insisted I get my hair curled so that the different dimensions of the colors could show. I was already there for a long time, and honestly didn’t really care, especially because the whole reason I wanted to do a treatment was so that I wouldn’t have to worry about having to apply heat to make my hair look the way I wanted. The appliance of the curls felt like just something they could add to their instagram, since they stalled me for a few minutes to take pictures, even after I kept mentioning I was in a hurry.

Anyways, the hair color isn’t even the biggest disappointment I had. It was that after the first wash to my hair, the treatment was already fading, which is because of the coloring, and it makes sense. I did a lot of online research (which I should have done at the start instead of just trusting her), and it’s recommended to do color then treatment.

Literally three weeks in, and my hair already started looking like it’s normal state. I was told it would last at least 3-4 months. So, just want to say a big disappointment for the price I paid.
