Updated review: I am a very frequent client at this place. Unfortunately, the last time I went there I wasn’t happy with my manicure for the following reasons:

1. My nails as you see in the photo
(with the white colour) have stamps on them. The technician mentioned that this specific colour was problematic. I told her that I am happy to change colour so I don’t make her job difficult, but she said no it’s fine. She fixed 2 of the nails and asked her colleague that books the appointments to finish her job and add some top coat on these 2 nails !!! Then, I kindly asked her to fix the other 2 nails so I don’t leave with my nails like these, but she said that she didn’t have time because she had another client waiting for her. So they offered me to come another day to fix my nails…

2. I got charged 12 dollars (additionally to the price of the manicure I did) because I chose the dazzle dry brand. I am fine with paying this amount but it’s good to inform clients when choosing their colour that this has an additional charge.

I thought it is useful to leave this updated review here also for the manager of this place so they are aware of these practices.

I hope in my next visit I don’t experience this again. I will give another try to this place because they have some good technicians 🙂

Old review: I really enjoyed my experience here. I was happy with my manicure. The atmosphere is nice and you can relax there. Staff is helpful and friendly. They have lots of colours you can choose for a simple manicure or gel. They are clean. I will visit them again 🙂

Customer service was great and my nail tech was very nice.

The dazzle dry was $12 extra which felt like a lot giving the price point of the mani and pedi. But I was aware of the up charge ahead of time so I opted into that.

I had the luxe pedicure. The massage was lovely and the nail shaping is good. The chairs are incredibly comfortable and lean back so you don’t have to tire out your legs holding them up. The chairs are also plus girl friendly (I’m a 16 and still had plenty of room)

I’ve had dry pedicures at other places and enjoyed them more because there was more callus removal. I left with a ton of dead skin on my feet still which is the most important part of the pedicure for me. I think there should be more callus removal options to book with the pedicure.

I got the main lane manicure which was nice. The polish application is a bit streaky for my liking but overall it looks good.

Overall it was a nice experience. I’d get a manicure again but will opt elsewhere for pedicure.

I booked a mani-pedi appointment months in advance and showed up early for my scheduled time. Another customer arrived right after me, yet they assigned her a technician right away while they rearranged furniture to accommodate my wheelchair. After waiting ten minutes, I was informed they could no longer keep my appointment due to an emergency with the other technician. I’m left wondering why the customer who arrived after me was prioritized. I expected better service and consideration, especially after planning ahead. Very disappointing experience.

I visited the Varnish Lane Mt. Vernon location the day it opened!

Two weeks later and my gel manicure is still going strong!

I walked into an amazingly clean and calming atmosphere with the most beautiful wall of nail polish options I’ve ever seen! I was offered a complementary drink and could wait in one of their comfy chairs due to there being space.

I had seen a nail design on their Instagram page that I showed my stylist, and she was more than willing to recreate It with the colours I chose! She even improvised for one nail that wasn’t shown in the picture and It looked amazing.

My only hesitation is when I go for my next manicure I will be charged to remove gel the polish. Though their base prices are on the higher side, It is worth It for the cleanliness, care and quality of their services!

Already booked my next appointment to try their pedicures out!

I wanted to like Varnish Lane so much, especially since I've heard great things! Unfortunately, while my nail technician was diligent/super nice , my gel manicure started chipping/peeling within less than a week (slight chipping at 2-3 days; full nails peeling off at 4-7 days). I love the concept of Varnish Lane and had a pleasant experience during my appointment, but unfortunately the gel manicures are at much too high of a price point to be chipping at 2-3 days.

Update to my previous review: The salon manager contacted me the next day to hear about my experience and courteously invited me back to have another tech redo my nails with any design of my choosing. They turned out amazing and I sincerely appreciate Varnish Lane making this right. Thank you for making a loyal customer feel valued! I will most definitely be back.

All their locations are truly a hit or miss, but Mt Vernon seems to be the worst. If you don't know who to go to here, save yourself and your money. They will assign you some random technician. I can't believe how messy my nearly $60 mani turned out. It's ugly and I could have done better myself. I even insisted that the gel polish seemed too dry and maybe we should use another one, but she insisted it was ok. Now my nails look bumpy and the edges look like they will come off in a couple of days.

I had a wonderful experience at Varnish Lane. The staff was extremely friendly and the check in process was very quick and easy. As soon as I arrived I was helped. I wanted to get a design on my nails and my nails look exactly like the reference photo. I am very impressed and will definitely return. I am tired of my nails being brittle and breaking from all the harsh substances used at traditional salons. I hope continuing to visit varnish lane Wil give me the long durable nails I crave!

The photos are the reference and my nails!

UPDATE: My nails did chip within 3 days. I guess that is what I get for trying to move away from gel or dip.
